Generating Projects
JetMock makes it easy to generate multiple Jira projects with random names and templates. This guide walks you through how to generate projects with a few simple settings and customize them to match your requirements.
Steps to Generate Projects
- Open the “Projects” Page: Navigate to the “Projects” section in the JetMock app to begin the project generation process.
- Configure Your Project Generation: In the project generation form, you’ll find the following fields:
- Number of Projects to Generate: Specify the number of Jira projects you’d like to create. Enter a number greater than 0.
- Project Templates to Use: Choose from a list of available project templates. Select the templates that match the active Jira products in your instance. You can select multiple templates.
- Project Name Prefix: Add a prefix to all project names to help categorize them (optional).
- Project Name Suffix: Add a suffix to all project names (optional).
- Generate Projects: Once the form is filled out with the desired parameters, click Generate Projects. JetMock will automatically start generating the projects based on your settings.
- Monitor the Progress: While projects are being generated, you’ll see updates in real-time. The table will display the status of each project as it’s being created, allowing you to track the progress.
- Completion: When the process finishes, all the new Jira projects will appear in the list with their randomly generated names and chosen templates.
Notes
- Permissions: Make sure that you have the necessary Jira permissions to generate projects.
- Caution: Generating multiple projects may clutter your Jira instance with dummy data. Use it carefully for testing, demos, or training purposes.
