Setting Up Permissions
To use JetMock in your Jira Cloud instance, the “JetMock – Full Access” permission is required. This permission grants access to all necessary features within JetMock, including the ability to generate and manage mock data such as projects, issues, and worklogs.
By default, Jira admins are granted the “JetMock – Full Access” permission, allowing them to configure and use JetMock across the instance.
If you want other users or specific teams to generate mock data, you’ll need to grant them this permission manually.
Granting Permissions to Additional Users or Groups
If you’d like to assign the “JetMock – Full Access” permission to other users or groups, follow these steps:
- Go to Jira System Settings: In Jira, click on the gear icon in the top right corner to access System Settings.
- Navigate to Global Permissions: Under System settings, go to Global Permissions.
- Access Global Permissions: In Global Permissions, select the “JetMock – Full Access” permission in the drop-down at the bottom of the page.
- Assign Permission to a User Group: Use the form at the bottom of the page to grant permission to the appropriate user group. For example, if you want a team of project managers or testers to access JetMock, assign the permission to their group.
Once the permission is granted, users will be able to access JetMock from the Jira Apps menu and start generating mock data instantly.
