Reporting on Custom Metrics
JetTime enables you to track and analyze custom metrics, such as units produced, mileage, or any other numeric information, directly from your custom numeric work log fields of type number. Whether you’re monitoring team productivity, operational KPIs, or tracking unique performance metrics, JetTime provides customizable tools to facilitate detailed reporting.
The custom metric reports can be visualized using both Timesheet and Table View modes.
How to Create a Report on Custom Metrics
To generate a custom metric report in JetTime, include columns that display the relevant custom numeric fields and configure the report to focus on your specific metrics. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Reports section within JetTime and open a specific report.
- Select the desired report view mode:
- Table View: Use this mode to display custom metric data in a structured tabular layout, including totals for each grouping.
- Timesheet View: This mode is ideal for viewing custom metrics over specific time periods, such as daily, weekly, or monthly summaries.
- Add columns to your report that display custom metric data:
- For Table View, ensure you include total columns that represent your custom numeric work log fields of type number, such as units completed, items delivered, or milestones achieved.
- For Timesheet View, choose a custom numeric work log field of type number as the main metric to display totals directly in the timesheet cells (e.g., total units built or mileage).
- Apply filters to refine the data in the report. For example:
- Filter by project to view metrics associated with a specific project.
- Filter by account or client to see custom metrics relevant to a particular stakeholder.
- Use additional custom fields to narrow down specific criteria, such as specific team performance or task-based metrics.
- Set a Date Range to include work logs relevant to your analysis. Logs must fall within this range to appear in the report.
Grouping and Summarizing Custom Metrics
For greater insights, JetTime allows you to group and summarize custom metric data hierarchically in reports. Nested and hierarchical groupings are useful for organizing and analyzing metric-related data in detail. Examples include:
- Group by Project: View totals for specific metrics, such as units completed or mileage, across various projects.
- Group by Assignee: Analyze how custom metric values vary for each team member.
- Group by Custom Fields: Use custom fields to structure your data, such as grouping by department, work type, or other unique attributes.
- Combine Groups Hierarchically: Create nested groupings, such as grouping by project and nesting by assignee or grouping by team and further nesting by work type.
Customize these grouping options in the report customization settings to tailor custom metric reporting to your specific analytical needs.
Use Cases for Custom Metric Reporting
JetTime’s custom metric reporting is highly versatile and can be applied to a variety of scenarios, such as:
- Productivity Tracking: Monitor the number of components produced, deliveries completed, or products delivered over time.
- Operational KPIs: Track metrics such as area built, client visits, or other operational indicators specific to your workflow.
- Performance Analysis: Evaluate the performance of individual team members or teams based on custom metrics.
- Target Monitoring: Identify progress toward specific performance goals or milestones.
Exporting Custom Metric Reports
To share and analyze your custom metric data, you can export reports in various formats:
- Export to PDF: Create professional, shareable reports for presentations or meetings.
- Export to Excel: Use Excel for detailed analysis, graph-building, or tracking trends for metric data.
- Export to CSV: Utilize CSV files for integration with third-party tools or systems that further analyze custom metrics.
